According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, road rage led to a seven-car accident. The crash interfered with the morning commute on Interstate 24. The chain reaction accident began when two men who were involved with each other in a road rage incident, stopped their cars in a travel lane of I-24 West. The two stopped cars, a Honda Civic and a Honda Pilot, caused five other cars to crash into them.

The two men who allegedly began the chain reaction car accident were both cited. One of the men was cited for reckless endangerment, following too close, reckless driving and failure to exercise due care. The other was cited for reckless driving, failure to exercise due care, obstructing the roadway and reckless endangerment. One woman was injured in the accident and was taken by ambulance to a nearby medical center.

The woman who was injured in the multi-car accident may decide to sue the two men for damages. A Tennessee lawyer with a background in personal injury cases may be able to secure a substantial settlement for the injured person. The lawyer may do a thorough review of the evidence in order to determine who is at fault. In the situation described in this story, the lawyer might pursue both of the men who stopped their cars for compensation.

In some cases, the lawyer may negotiate directly with the at-fault driver and their insurance company. The benefit of negotiation is that it avoids a long and stressful court battle. In other situations, the lawyer may recommend a jury trial in civil court. The lawyer may gather evidence and present an argument in court on behalf of an injured person. A compelling argument may persuade the jury to award a substantial settlement to the plaintiff.
